About Chris Cross Crafts...

Chris Cross Crafts is the brain
child of Christine Norris. The name
was originally thought of about 18 years ago
after moving back to the town I was born in.
Long before the internet had become what it
is today. At the time I was doing a
lot of sewing, making things like Raggedy
Ann and Andy dolls in various sizes, baby
quilts, and sleeping apparel. The
suggestion was made by a lot of people to
sell the items in a store. For a small
time I was selling in a consignment store in
Riverdale, Utah. As I would drive thru
our small town I would see a small shop that
I dreamed of being able to open a shop to
sell items and do alterations from. I
know I would need a name. I thought of
ChrisCross as a play of the crisscross word,
then added the Crafts to make it more of an
idea of what I love to do. Almost any
kind of craft.
In
2000 I met my husband, the internet geek.
In 2003 he created the website
www.chriscrosscrafts.com for me.
I created my first written pattern Bender
Bending Rodriguez for a science fiction
convention that was having a Futurama
marathon. Before this I had tweaked
patterns of things I liked, but never tried
actually making anything without someone
else's pattern. When I had the Bender
hat done, I realized I had to try a Zoidberg
hat. The rest they say is history.
I have been writing my own patterns since
then. I can hardly wait for the
grandchildren to start coming so I have
little ones to try things out on.
This site has grown as I have grown with my
web design and the items I make. I
currently sell on eBay, Etsy and Yardsellr.
I sell both the patterns and items created
from the patterns. My dream right now
would to be published in a book, flyer,
magazine, well any where would be terrific.
I am inspired by almost anything, friend,
family, cartoon, movies, conventions, etc... |
